Psychologist & Counsellor Helen Davies
B.Soc.Sc.(Hons), B.Ed., Assoc. MAPS
Helen is a registered psychologist who has a heart for people. For five years she worked at a counselling service on Bribie Island during which she obtained invaluable experience working with a wide variety of people of all ages and from all walks of life.
For two of those years she volunteered her services at Bribie Island State School (primary), assisting staff with both life issues and the stress of the job, as well as consulting with difficult students and advising staff about the best way to approach them, thereby easing difficulties in behaviour management and enhancing the ongoing education of those students. Her qualifications and experience, firstly as a primary school teacher in Victoria, and secondly as a psychologist both served to enhance her capacity to fulfil her role in the school.
For 2 years Helen worked full-time as a psychologist with Queensland Health, counseling both the teenage & young adult victims of drug & alcohol abuse and their parents. In late 2008 Helen made the transition to full time private practice.
In the midst of her busy schedule, Helen is finding the time to undertake further study in her area of special interest, which is Educational & Developmental Psychology.
Appointments - Helen is available for appointments during normal business hours weekdays and on Saturday mornings. After hours appointments are possible by special arrangement. Please ring 3285 6626.
